In government crash tests, the 2007 Acura RDX earned 5 out of 5 stars in frontal-crash and side-crash tests. The RDX earned a "Top Safety Pick" award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

The 2007 Acura RDX receives rave reviews for its impressive standard safety gear, including all-wheel drive on all models. The Auto Channel states, "Safety is paramount in the design and construction of the Acura RDX."

Accident Avoidance

The 2007 Acura RDX comes equipped with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, Vehicle Stability Assist (which prevents oversteer or understeer), a tire pressure monitoring system, a four-channel antilock braking system and electronic brake-force distribution, Brake Assist, an optional rearview camera and High Intensity Discharge low-beam headlights.

Crash Protection

Other standard safety gear on the RDX includes dual-stage, dual-threshold front air bags, side air bags, side curtain air bags, seat belt pretensioners, active head restraints, and LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren). In National Highway Traffic Safety Administration tests, the Acura RDX earned five stars in frontal-crash and side-crash tests. The IIHS also gave the RDX an overall rating of "good" (highest score possible) in their tests.
