Exterior - 8.4 (Very Good)
AutoWeek compares the TL's sporty, refreshed-for-2007 look to a soccer player, saying, "The Acura TL has a solid stance, tall and lean, with muscular lines. It looks compact and coiled, tensed, ready to move in any direction with quickness, certainty and precision."
Road and Track continues the praise, noting, "It would be hard to find fault with the TL's chiseled good looks and the newest edition builds on that, with integrated foglamps, chrome trim, LED turn signals and more modern Acura badging on the grille." Cosmetic changes for 2007 include a larger grille, revised front and rear lower fascias, new independent fog lights, redesigned taillights, and new 17-inch wheels. Automobile Magazine praises, "This is an Acura with style. A great-looking, beveled front fascia has a wide, powerful stance. The gutter at the beltline of this tough, extruded shape recalls the blade of a hunting knife."
AutoWeek especially likes the "strong, chin-like front end," which "is braced by two low-mounted openings feeding cooling air to the engine, the minimalist grille above serving primarily to frame the Acura badge and trademark polished horizontal bar." However, the reviewer says the rear of the TL "looks like a Honda. The rear looks conservative when compared to the dramatic styling of the rest of the car."
Still, reviewer after reviewer has good things to say about the TL's aggressive yet tasteful styling. The Sacramento Bee says, "The exterior is sporty enough, but it's decidedly understated. Basically, you get an appealing, rounded shape that cuts through the air nicely, but there are no over-the-top pieces of hardware stuck on, trying to shout out a phony sports car profile." Cars.com simply concludes, "Beauty is subjective, but for what it's worth, I think the TL is one of the best-looking cars on the market."

Base model
The Acura TL base model's exterior features include a power moonroof, turn signals integrated into the outside mirror housings, heated outside mirrors, auto-off bi-Xenon High-Intensity Discharge headlights, 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, integrated dual-exhaust outlets, fog lights, and heat-absorbing green-tinted glass.
Type-S
The Type-S features sportier styling to match its sportier performance. This includes quad exhaust outlets, smoked side marker lights, a rear lip spoiler, and lower body-side molding.
