New 2007 Buick LaCrosse Reliability Review [ 2009 , 2008 ]
Reliability
The 2007 Buick LaCrosse reliability score of 10.0 out of 10 is the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on trending the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability data from J.D. Power's automotive studies, specifically the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and the Initial Quality Study (IQS).
The 2007 LaCrosse is backed by a four-year/50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, and an impressive five-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
It's the consensus that the LaCrosse will prove a reliable car. "Buick is proof that you don't have to buy a Honda to get good quality and you don't have to buy a Lexus to be treated well at the dealership," says Newsday.
U.S. News reviewer Rick Newman points out an interesting dichotomy: "Studies by Morgan Stanley, J.D. Power, and even General Motors' own internal researchers reveal that although Buick quality ranks in the industry's highest tier, consumers rate the brand far below average." The Washington Post would clearly not make that mistake, writing, "I have no doubts about the LaCrosse's durability, although I've driven it only a few hundred miles at this writing. Quality announces itself early. The materials chosen and the care of their assembly speak to the attention and love -- or lack thereof -- involved in a car's creation." The Auto Channel concludes, "Fit-and-finish is also impressive inside and out."
