Cadillac SRX Safety Review

Safety - 8.0 (Very Good)

There are various features which contribute to a vehicle's safety, and the SRX has these in spades. In government crash tests, the 2007 Cadillac SRX received 4 out of a possible 5 stars in frontal crash tests and a perfect 5 stars in side crash tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave it a "good" rating (the highest possible) for frontal crash tests.

Accident Avoidance

As The Auto Channel explains, "Safety is the number one priority, and the Cadillac SRX hosts safety features throughout the design." Standard accident avoidance features include 4-wheel antilock brakes, StabiliTrak and traction control. The Auto Channel likes the Traction Control and StabiliTrak Electronic Control System, which can reduce the risk of a "fatality accident," and BusinessWeek explains that as a result of its standard stability control, the SRX should be "less prone to rollover than a big SUV."

Crash Protection

The 2007 Cadillac SRX comes standard with dual-stage frontal and side-impact air bags for the driver and right-front passenger, and head-curtain, side-impact air bags for front and rear outboard seating positions.
