2007 Chevrolet Aveo Reliability Review [ 2008 ]
Reliability
The 2007 Chevrolet Aveo reliability score of 4.0 out of 10 is the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on trending the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability data from J.D. Power's automotive studies, specifically the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and the Initial Quality Study (IQS).
The Aveo comes with GM's basic limited warranty, covering three years or 36,000 miles. Chevrolet also offers a standard five-year/ 100,000-mile powertrain warranty, and five years of roadside assistance.
Echoing many, the USA TODAY auto writer recommends, "Price is tempting, but consider saving a little longer and buying something with a good track record on reliability and resale value." New Car Test Drive similarly points out, "One question mark [about the Aveo] is long-term reliability, an area where slightly more expensive competitors such as Honda and Toyota are known quantities."
Qualitywise, some reviewers report variations. Autoweb says "Outside, we noticed a slight variation in the gaps around the hood, and the rear doors sat just a hair shy of flush against the rear quarter panels, but that was basically all we could find fault with." Inside, the reviewer continues, "The main culprit, unfortunately, was visible to most everyone riding in the Aveo--multiple matte black pieces formed the area around the radio, all of which were a little off-kilter."
