2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Reliability Review [ 2008 ]
Reliability
The 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac reliability score of 7.0 out of 10 is the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on trending the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability data from J.D. Power's automotive studies, specifically the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and the Initial Quality Study (IQS).
The Explorer Sport Trac comes with a three-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. The Sport Trac also comes with a five-year/60,000-mile drivetrain warranty and five-year/60,000-mile roadside assistance.
Reviewers did notice some quality glitches in their test vehicles. Autoweb says, "The fender flares, attached with adhesive, were separating in a few spots, the gaps around the headlights were notably large, the gaps around the tailgate were uneven, and there were spots where the doors didn't sit flush with the body." The reviewer continues, "Rounding out the interior build-quality issues are inconsistent gaps on the outer edges of the dash, and a rough steel bolt head on the side of the center console."
