2007 GMC Acadia Exterior Review [ 2008 ]
GMC Acadia Exterior Review
Exterior - 9.0 (Excellent)
The Acadia is generally considered a very good-looking SUV. "GMC smartly avoids the excessive body cladding that plagued some of General Motors' previous SUVs. The result is a handsome package that looks masculine and upscale," according to Kelley Blue Book.
The Acadia features brushed-aluminum roof rails and a rear spoiler that "looks sporty and contributes to the Acadia's low aerodynamic drag," according to Kelley Blue Book. Along the same lines, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette notes the Acadia is "so aerodynamic that it has a drag coefficient that is exactly the same as Corvette's ZO6!" But it's the Acadia's looks that are attractive to most, with the Kansas City Star calling it "muscular without being cartoonish." The reviewer also notes that "The wide track and big wheels give the Acadia a secure, anchored stance."
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is among the minority of reviewers that like the Acadia's look but wish it stood out a bit more from the competition: "Wisely, GM has given the Acadia some of its own stylistic flavorings. But I'm not sure it's enough. It still looks too much like the Saturn Outlook, another of the GMC crossover triplets that costs quite a bit less. In today's style-conscious market, you can never have enough individuality."
