New 2007 Honda CR-V Exterior Review [ 2009 , 2008 ]
Honda CR-V Exterior Review
Exterior - 7.5 (Good)
Reviews are mixed on the redesigns made to the 2007 Honda CR-V. While most reviewers agree that CR-Vs have lacked overall stylistic appeal since their debut in 1997, this year's reviews ranged from Car and Driver's praise that "changes add up to a much tighter and sleeker-looking body" to this thumbs down from a Cars.com reviewer: "My take on the redesign of the CR-V is that Honda uglified it inside and out."
Reviewers generally agree the most notable change for the 2007 Honda CR-V is a positive one -- moving the rear-mounted spare tire to the inside. Kelley Blue Book calls this decision "addition by subtraction," whereas the Oregonian says this move makes the body "more rounded and sculpted." Additionally, the CR-V's rear door is now a tailgate that lifts up easily, in the view of U.S. News' Rick Newman and others.
None of the 2007 Honda CR-V trims come with an abundance of exterior options, and all models feature 17-inch wheels, green-tinted glass, chrome window trim, multireflector halogen headlights, and full-length brake lights.
