Honda Pilot Exterior Review

Exterior - 8.6 (Very Good)

The consensus is the 2007 Honda Pilot has a sleek, if bland, outward appearance. With a similar frame to the Acura MDX, most auto writers approve of a "clean and functional" design, as Car and Driver describes it. Minimally remodeled for the first time in 2006, the LX, EX and EX-L trims of the Honda Pilot are remarkably similar.

In 2006, the Honda Pilot received a new grille, hood, fenders, headlights, bumpers and taillights. The EX-L version now has new fog lights, and both the LX and EX have new alloy wheels. Auto Mall USA says the front is now "beveled and blunt" with more definition, while the taillights and chrome grille "raise the bling factor a couple of notches."

To Kelley Blue Book, these redesigns give the 2007 Honda Pilot a similar stance to the Honda Ridgeline, and the reviewer describes the new look as "a boxy greenhouse tempered by rounded corners, big side glass and a short hood." Most other auto writers did not mention the design changes, but the Seattle Post-Intelligencer's reviewer says, "I didn't realize that anything was different until I read a Honda product description detailing the changes."
