Honda S2000 Exterior Review
Exterior - 8.5 (Very Good)
While most auto writers find the S2000's sporty exterior design attractive, many assert that it's worn out its welcome. "The 2007 Honda S2000 is still a fun and desirable roadster, but its lack of features and aging design are increasingly becoming liabilities," says Edmunds.
"The S2000 strikes a very un-Honda like, somewhat wicked pose," says Kelley Blue Book. "When viewed from above, the S2000's flared front-wheel arches and tapered hood closely resemble an angry cobra about to strike: A fitting look, considering this car's performance potential." Nevertheless, "it may come as a surprise to see that it looks pretty much just like it did at its debut," says Edmunds. "Though Honda typically redesigns its products every five years, it has left the S2000 relatively untouched for eight."
In addition to an aluminum hood and lightweight alloy wheels, the 2007 S2000 also features an electrically powered soft top. Buyers, however, may purchase a removable aluminum hardtop. According to Road and Track, "This change also results in weight savings of about 90 pounds."
