2007 Hyundai Elantra Reliability Review [ 2008 ]
Reliability
The 2007 Hyundai Elantra reliability score of 7.0 out of 10 is the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on trending the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability data from J.D. Power's automotive studies, specifically the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and the Initial Quality Study (IQS).
The Elantra comes equipped with a stellar five-year/60,000-mile limited warranty. In addition, the Elantra's lengthy powertrain coverage receives praise. The Car Connection says it "stands out as one of the best in the business, with ... ten years or 100,000 miles on powertrain components, and seven years on rust."
Though the reliability and build quality of previous Elantra models was "notorious for being sloppy" (according to Edmunds), much has changed.
Kelley Blue Book says the 2007 Hyundai Elantra "feels secure and reliable," while MSN says, "With greater structural rigidity, the new Elantra has a more solid feel."
