Jeep Compass Safety Review

Safety - 8.3 (Very Good)

The 2007 Jeep Compass has received class-competitive crash test ratings, and it's equipped with a good array of safety features. Cars.com explains that "for an entry-level vehicle, the Compass comes stacked with safety features."

The 2007 Jeep Compass received 4 stars for frontal-crash tests and 5 stars for side crash tests from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has not yet tested the 2007 Compass.

Accident Avoidance

The 2007 Jeep Compass is equipped with anti-lock brakes, an electronic stability control, all-speed traction control, Brake Assist, full-time 4WD, and a tire-pressure monitoring system.

Crash Protection

Other standard safety features of the Compass include multistage driver and front-passenger air bags, front and rear side-curtain air bags, a restraint system and crush zones, which Jeep explains help reduce injuries in the case of an accident. It's important to note that supplemental front side seat air bags are only optional.
