If you're in the market for an affordable compact SUV, you should also consider the Honda CRV and Toyota RAV4. For similar off-road ability and better road manners, consider the Toyota FJ Cruiser.
The 2007 Jeep Liberty offers superior off-road capability and is popular with buyers, even in its last year prior to a 2008 redesign. However, IntelliChoice gives the 2007 Jeep Liberty a "poor" value rating for its predicted five-year cost of ownership compared to other vehicles in its class.
