Kia Amanti Exterior Review
Exterior - 5.7 (Mediocre)
A majority of reviewers categorize the 2007 Kia Amanti's exterior, redesigned this year, as inspired by luxury sedans such as Mercedes, Jaguar and Lincoln. But not all reviewers agree on the end effect. Edmunds is one that dislikes the overall look and calls the combo "an odd mix of styling cues." The Washington Post calling the Amanti "the finest bit of industrial plagiarism witnessed in decades." Autofieldguide.com sarcastically finds the Amanti a "schizophrenic's delight."
At 196.9 inches long, the 2007 Kia Amanti has 225/60R16 tires on nine-spoke alloy rims and a wheelbase expanded by 110.2 inches. The Amanti also features an updated hood and trunk as well as front and rear bumpers. The once horizontal taillights are now vertical and the front grille shorter. Edmunds says this new grille coupled with cleaner taillights and a smoother rear metal gives the car a "more attractive look," and Car and Driver finds that these features "stare down onlookers with more grrrrr." However, the Boston Globe is one of several to disagree, calling the front end "pug-ugly."
