The Range Rover is widely viewed as one of the finest luxury vehicles built today, and its smooth on-road and rugged off-road performance are seen by many as best-in-class. However, poor fuel economy detracts from its overall appeal.
With luxury and performance to spare, reviewers were almost unanimous in saying that the 2007 Land Rover Range Rover is a wonderful full-size SUV, among the finest overall luxury vehicles on the road. Not only does it ride and handle well on the city streets, it is class-leading in its off-road capabilities. Car and Driver says it is "a beautifully executed amalgam of old-money luxury sedan and Land Rover's rugged, go-anywhere capability." Edmunds sums up the majority view, adding "it doesn't come cheap, but the 2007 Land Rover Range Rover delivers a satisfying blend of on-road comfort and off-road capability in a stylish package."
Writers from Kelley Blue Book add that the 2007 Land Rover Range Rover "combines unparalleled off-road prowess with a winning combination of power, performance and, quite possibly, one of the most handsome interiors ever to grace an SUV." The Washington Post reviewer adds that they "loved driving in it, being in it, loved the overall feel, look, and even the smell of it." Reviewers from the Detroit Free Press add that the Range Rover "wears its exquisite interior like a tailored vest" and the "engine gives it muscle to match its grace."
As capable as either Range Rover model is, they are expensive, even for their class. Still, the Family Car calls the Range Rover "one of the few luxury cars that is actually worth its asking price." Forbes adds that the "Range Rover blends conflicting functions by offering supreme luxury and extreme off-road ruggedness. Few other SUVs offer such high levels of both. The trade-off is a steep price." In a head-to-head comparison test, Motor Trend preferred the Cadillac Escalade, saying that it was "quicker, roomier, better equipped, and cheaper."
IntelliChoice gives the 2007 Land Rover Range Rover HSE a value rating of "Better than Average" for its predicted five-year cost of ownership compared to other vehicles in its class.

The widely held assessment of the 2007 Land Rover Range Rover is that it has a beautifully styled exterior. The Land Rover Ranger Rover is equipped with a long list of expected safety features, including dual-stage frontal and side impact air bags, side curtain air bags for all rows of seats, and even an air bag to protect the driver's knees.
