Lexus LX Exterior Review
Exterior - 6.7 (Mediocre)
The 2007 Lexus LX 470 has not undergone a major exterior re-design since 2003, and its high-end luxury take on the classic truck-like SUV look is a bit dated. Auto Mall USA says the "overall result is a functionally handsome vehicle, although some of the newest luxury SUVs look more contemporary."
The LX 470 is an upscale corporate clone of Toyota's Land Cruiser, and its appearance is still a close match to that vehicle, modified slightly to give it a more luxurious look. "Body cladding, integrated running boards, a chrome Lexus grille, and elegant use of paint contribute to this impression," says Auto Mall USA. Kelley Blue Book notes that "The LX 470's age shows mostly in the body."
The sole trim level includes 18-inch alloy wheels, and standard running boards. The running boards, bumpers, mirrors and all exterior trim are body-colored. An optional upgrade to the Limited Edition adds black onyx exterior paint, graphite-finished wheels and chrome door handles, exhaust tip and beltline accent.
