Most auto reviewers agree that the 2007 Sport Wagon's body style is eye-catching and attractive. The Auto Channel says, "With its long, lean proportions and sculpted, assertive styling, the Mazda6 Sport Wagon will not be mistaken for a mere transportation appliance."
"Mention the term 'station wagon,'" says Edmunds, "and most Americans think of old school Oldsmobiles with stick-on 'wood' paneling and tail ends that bounced off the pavement at every dip in the road." The Sport Wagon, however, lacks these stereotypical attributes. Instead, it features what Automotive.com describes as a more "aggressive" and "sporty" look.
Still, not all reviewers are content with the Sport Wagon's standout design. The Washington Post asks, "Why an 'aggressive stance' in a station wagon? Will it help you get to the front of the drop-off/pickup line in the elementary school parking lot?" The Detroit News explains: "Buying a 'family' vehicle, whether it's a station wagon, a minivan or sport-ute, can be a painful experience, especially for moms and dads who also love to drive. Fortunately, practicality needn't take precedence over performance" -- or style. According to the Orlando Sentinel, the Sport Wagon's "good looks" and "style" contribute to an overall "enjoyable" experience.
Exterior Trims
With the exception of the s Grand Touring, which comes outfitted with 18-inch wheels, every Mazda6 Sport Wagon is equipped with 17-inch wheels. Among the many exterior options available for the Sport Wagon are roof rack side rails and Mazda's "Chrome Appearance Package."
s Sport VE
Standard exterior features on the Sport Wagon s Sport VE include halogen headlights, dual power remote mirrors and a roof mounted rear spoiler, as well as body-color bumpers, door handles, grille, mirrors, side moldings and sill extensions.
s Touring
With the exception of heated dual power body-color mirrors, the s Touring's exterior body styling is the same as the s Sport VE.
s Grand Touring
Additional standard exterior features on the Sport Wagon s Grand Touring include front fog lights and HID headlights.
