2007 Mercury Milan Exterior Review [ 2008 ]
Mercury Milan Exterior Review
Exterior - 8.0 (Very Good)
While some reviewers only see the Milan as a a Mercury-styled Ford Fusion, most are impressed with the Milan's Euro-look. The Detroit News says it has a "tasteful and sophisticated exterior," while Edmunds adds, "There are some undeniable European -- maybe even Italian -- elements to its taillights, badging and rear-quarter panels." The Car Connection, on the other hand, asserts, "What we have here is a Ford Fusion with a different front bumper, a new grille and hood as well as a reworked rump."
According to Mercury, the 2007 Milan's exterior body-styling is inspired by the look of large modern cities. This likely explains what Kelley Blue Book describes as its "gentle curves as well as body lines that could be called 'chiseled.'" The Auto Channel adds, "Bodywork that rises toward the rear, and a high rear deck, give a suggestion of performance, with European-style elegance from just the right touch of chrome trim." While some auto reviewers, like Edmunds, focus heavily on the fact that the Milan is built from the basic structure of a Ford Fusion, they also assert that it "sets itself apart."
