Mitsubishi Endeavor Exterior Review

Exterior - 8.6 (Very Good)

The Endeavor's exterior styling is almost universally praised, particularly when compared to competition within the midsize SUV segment. Edmunds comments, "With an in-your-face front end and plenty of sharply creased sheet metal, the Endeavor was designed to stand out among the current crop of otherwise featureless SUVs."

The 2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor is a midsize SUV built on Mitsubishi's Project America architecture, which also serves as the base for the Galant sedan, Eclipse coupe and Spyder convertible.

Mitsubishi has toned down the exterior of the Endeavor slightly for 2007, since previous generations were often described as slightly over-the-top. "Unlike some others in its class, its styling is unbland," praises Car and Driver. For 2007, plastic cladding has been removed from the sides of the vehicle. "The first thing we noticed about this crossover SUV is that it stands tall, with an aggressive posture, a broad split grille like the smaller Outlander, pronounced fender arches, beefy 17-inch wheels, sturdy luggage rack, and a hatch with separate opening glass above a step bumper," says Motor Week of the 2007 Endeavor. The New York Times offers "Mitsubishi designers stepped out of the box a bit and created an appealing package that has more panache than the Highlander or the no-frills countenance of the Pilot."

Base LS models have body-colored bumpers, with black plastic door handles and side mirrors. SE models have body-colored door handles and side mirrors. Exterior options include running boards and mudguards.
