Mitsubishi Outlander Safety Review

Safety - NA

The 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander has similar safety features to others in its class. Government crash ratings are not available for the Outlander. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awards the 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander a rating of "good," its best rating for frontal impacts but has not yet rated side impacts.

Accident Avoidance

Standard safety features include four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes, an Electronic Stability Program and skid control (sometimes known as traction control). Cars.com says, "The redesigned Outlander has significant structural and feature changes, and I expect higher ratings for the new model."

Crash Protection

The 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander now comes with side air bags, once optional, as a standard feature. Front seat head restraints, a collapsible steering wheel and child-seat latches are also standard features.
