The 2007 Nissan Murano receives praise for its exterior based on its bold styling, first implemented as part of the 2006 redesign. "We applaud Nissan's effort to try something new for the 21st century," says Edmunds. "... Of all the vehicles in the comparison test, the Murano certainly cut the most rakish profile and drew the most looks."
U.S. News' auto reviewer Rick Newman calls the Murano "kind of an automotive Minotaur, designed to look like an SUV on the bottom and a sports sedan on the top." First implemented in the 2006 redesign, exterior styling features a modern aerodynamic design with short overhangs, bulging fenders, an expansive chrome grille, and standard 18-inch wheels.
Automobile Magazine describes it this way: "In the case of the Murano every comment I received from family, friends and even a woman walking her dog who gave me the thumbs up while mouthing 'nice car' were positive. I have to agree. The Murano looks athletically taut, beautifully curvaceous yet edgy, completely modern and unlike anything else on the market--tough to do considering the variety in its category." Likewise, as Motor Week sums it up, theMurano "doesn't look the way we expect an SUV to look. Murano's Cheshire Cat grille, sweeping curves, and almost total lack of sharp angles looks more like something born of the glass blower's pipe than a rough-and-tumble auto plant."
For an even bolder look, buyers can add the optional Chrome Wheel Package or black roof rails, in addition to other minor exterior options that come with various add-on packages.

Murano S FWD or AWD
Standard exterior features include 18-inch six-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels, P235/65TR18 all-season tires, a dark charcoal-color lower rear bumper, a brushed aluminum rear bumper finisher, LED taillights, dual chrome exhaust-tip finishers, dual power outside mirrors, and rear black privacy glass.
Murano SL FWD or AWD
In addition to the above, the SL also includes standard fog lights, auto-on/off headlights, brushed aluminum trim on the rear bumper, and chrome accents along the sides.
Murano SE AWD
In addition to all of the above standard items, the SE comes with comes with high-intensity bi-xenon headlights, 18-inch aluminum-alloy sport wheels, and dark charcoal-colored lower front and rear bumpers.
