Nissan Quest Exterior Review

Exterior - 7.5 (Good)

Auto writers note that Nissan has toned down the 2007 Quest's unique exterior, but have mixed opinions on the changes. Kelley Blue Book says the Quest is "as far from the mainstream, minivan-wise, as Tiny Tim," but the Chicago Tribune finds the van only "as distinctive as a long bus."

Kelley Blue Book also praises Quest's sheet metal as "the most provocative skin this side of the English Channel," and finds grille and headlamp updates "reduced the visual disconnect." Meanwhile the Boston Globe says the Quest "has done its best to smooth the edges and arch the roofline, employing the roof-rack rails to soften the square edge... Nissan has done a nice job working inside this box."

However, the Chicago Tribune continues to complain. "If Quest is dressed in new sheet metal, Nissan got it at the thrift shop...the nose is short and stubby, the body long and paunchy." Autosite.com joins in, complaining that the Quest still has "more than its share of unique styling cues."

Meanwhile, Cars.com fairly notes the Quest's style isn't for everyone, writing it "seems like one of those designs you either can't get enough of or can't understand how it got out of the factory." USA TODAY is also objective, saying the Quest has character. "Some people don't like characters. Others find them refreshing."
