Saab 9-3 Exterior Review
Exterior - 8.1 (Very Good)
Reviewers' consensus is that those Saab enthusiasts who enjoy a distinctive exterior design will still find it in the 2007 Saab 9-3. As Kelley Blue Book says, that the "traditional Saab styling cues are visually in place."
With their sloping lines and trademark grille, "Saabs have always been a little quirky when it comes to exterior design," Autobytel remarks. The reviewer adds that the 2007 Saab 9-3 "deserves praise for adhering to a design theme year after year, one that enables its cars to stand out from the crowd. Whether liked by the masses or not, Saab designs do their job by getting instant recognition that results in positive brand awareness."
Sitting on either 16- or 17-inch all-season radial tires and five-spoke alloy wheels, the 2007 Saab 9-3 has protective body side moldings and body-colored outer door handles. The 2.0T's lower bumper and rocker sills are also body-colored. The Aero sedan also has dual bright-finish exhaust tailpipes, a differently designed body-colored lower bumper, rocker sills and a rear spoiler (a rear spoiler is optional with the 2.0T.)
New this year, the 2007 Saab 9-3 also offers the 60th Anniversary Package with exclusive 17-inch alloy wheels and metallic paint options. Also included is a visibility package with rain-sensing windshield wipers and a headlamp upgrade to xenon projector beams.
The Saab 9-3 is also available as a convertible. This changes the exterior by adding a soft retractable roof, and takes the number of doors down from four to two.
