New 2007 Suzuki Reno Reliability Review [ 2008 ]
Reliability
The 2007 Suzuki Reno reliability score of 4.0 out of 10 is the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on trending the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability data from J.D. Power's automotive studies, specifically the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and the Initial Quality Study (IQS).
The Reno is covered by a three-year/36,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty. Plus, Suzuki boasts that it maintains "America's #1 Warranty" with its competitive four-point protection plan. This includes a fully-transferable zero-deductible seven-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty and three-year/36,000-mile roadside assistance.
Such a comprehensive warranty may be necessary, as Car and Driver explains: "There are questions about long-term build quality and resale value." Edmunds agrees, noting "inconsistent materials quality" as a point of concern. Nevertheless, Car and Driver says, "The warranty takes care of some of these concerns, but one shouldn't overlook the fact that there are serious rivals wearing prices not much higher."
