New 2007 Toyota Sequoia Exterior Review [ 2009 , 2008 ]
Toyota Sequoia Exterior Review
Exterior - 6.2 (Mediocre)
Reviewers generally find the 2007 Toyota Sequoia's exterior, redesigned in 2005, to be simply "uninspired," as MSN puts it. The reviewer adds, "The Sequoia thus has ordinary styling and could be mistaken for any number of sport utes. But it isn't unattractive and features Toyota's high assembly quality and superb fit and finish."
The four-door Sequoia measures 203.9 inches bumper to bumper and has a 118.1-inch wheelbase, making it larger than a Chevy Tahoe but slightly smaller than a Ford Expedition. In 2005's redesign, the SUV got a new front and grille, standard overfenders and tail lamps with clear-lens covers. The majority of reviewers don't have much to say about the styling, which they find neither offensive nor particularly attractive.
4-Wheel & Off-Road finds the styling "distinctive, dramatic." But regardless, "the gas station guy, a car buff, mistook it for a redesigned 4Runner, while other people just wondered what it was -- if they bothered to notice at all."
The base SR5 comes with 16-inch styled steel wheels (which MSN calls "ho-hum"), color-keyed power outside mirrors, solar tinted glass and a color-keyed grille. The Limited model adds 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome power heated outside mirrors, a color-keyed grille with chrome inserts, body-colored mirrors and molding (as opposed to black), a roof rack, fog lamps and a power tilt/slide moonroof. SR5 buyers can choose the optional Appearance Package, which adds 16-inch five-spoke aluminum alloy wheels, fog lamps and a front skid plate.
