Most auto reviewers agree that while the 2007 Tacoma isn't the best-looking vehicle in its class, it does have a handsome road-dominating appearance. "The Toyota Tacoma is an attractive truck, though not as stylish as those from Nissan, Dodge and other manufacturers," says Automotive.com.
According to Kelley Blue Book, "The Tacoma's newest look succeeds by blending classic Toyota truck styling with the larger body panels of some domestic trucks." While PickupTruck.com describes it as having "a tough, rugged and youthful image," The Auto Channel thinks that it has "road presence" and "a very aggressive look."
With the availability of three trims -- Regular, Access (or Extended), and Double (or Crew) -- Edmunds asserts, "One advantage of this truck is its variety of available body styles and trim levels. There is almost certainly a version that suits your needs, but some time will likely be required to sort through them all."
Exterior Trims
Regular Cab
Standard exterior features on the Tacoma Regular Cab include a removable tailgate, as well as a black grille, bumpers, handles and outside mirrors. While the Regular Cab 4x2 has 15-inch steel wheels, the PreRunner and 4x4 come equipped with 16-inch steel wheels.
Access Cab
Additional exterior features on the Access Cab include dual rear-hinged access doors and fog lamps. The X-Runner comes standard with a color-keyed hood scoop, grille surround, door handles, bumpers, power mirrors, and a body kit. While the Access Cab 4x2 comes equipped with 15-inch steel wheels, both the PreRunner and 4x4 feature 16-inch steel wheels (16-in./17-in. alloy wheels optional). The X-Runner comes outfitted with 18-inch alloy wheels.
Double Cab
The Tacoma Double Cab features 16-inch steel wheels (16-in./17-in. alloy wheels optional).
