The 2007 Toyota Tacoma reliability score of 6.0 out of 10 is the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on trending the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability data from J.D. Power's automotive studies, specifically the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and the Initial Quality Study (IQS).
Every new Tacoma comes with a three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty, and a
five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
Edmunds reports that the Tacoma has a "solid build quality and a better-than-average reputation for reliability and durability." The New York Times agrees, writing, "Toyota's trucks have been remarkably reliable, and there is no reason to think that will change."
