Acura TSX - What the Auto Press Says
The 2008 Acura TSX ranks 2 out of 5 Upscale Small Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 62 published reviews and test drives of the Acura TSX, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.
The TSX is a fun-to-drive small sedan with a luxurious interior and a reasonable price tag, but it does not have the more racy exterior lines of its competitors, and it only offers one engine option.
According to our analysis, the 2008 Acura TSX's similarities to the Honda Accord are a double-edged sword: Just like the Accord, the more upscale TSX is recognized for solid performance and extensive standard features. However, the TSX is also noted for an uninspiring exterior, and it only comes with a four-cylinder engine. Last redesigned in 2004, reviewers hypothesize the anticipated 2009 redesign will introduce a TSX model that maintains those attributes that suit the car well, while improving on those issues that have hurt it in the past.
The TSX is a front-wheel-drive, four-door sedan that's available in four trims: The five-speed automatic, the six-speed manual and then two navigation trims for the automatic and manual transmissions. There were no significant changes for the 2008 model, but Forbes reports the 2009 model "is rumored to include a turbocharged engine and an all-wheel drive version." If you're in the market for an upscale small car, but not sold on the Acura TSX, consider the highly rated Audi A3's capabilities with all-wheel drive, or the power behind the Volkswagen GTI's turbocharged engine.

TSX Performance - 8.1 (Very Good)
The TSX's sporty ride doesn't sacrifice comfort, but some test drivers wished for more power than the four-cylinder engine can provide.
