Safety - What the Auto Press Says
The Aston Martin DB9 has not yet been crash tested by the federal government or insurance industry. However, it comes equipped with a wide array of safety features -- including Dynamic Stability Control and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution. What's more, the Volante comes with automatically deploying roll-over bars, which extend when sensors detect the likelihood of a rollover.
- "Dynamic Stability Control, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Brake Assist are standard and assure secure cornering and stopping, no matter the weather or road conditions." -- Forbes
- "If the unthinkable occurs, and the seamlessly designed DB9 body acquires crumples, airbags assure occupant safety. Dual-stage units emerge in front of the driver and front passenger, while seat-mounted ones provide lateral buffering." -- Autoweb
- "Sensors can detect a potential rollover and deploy twin roll-hoops. Aston Martin says the windshield pillars can withstand twice the car's body weight." -- Cars.com
- "There is no manual override for these roll hoops; indeed, the handbook advises owners planning high-g cornering on a track to run with the top down because if the hoops pop up, they will break the softtop's rear window, which is glass." -- Car and Driver
