Safety - What the Auto Press Says

Many say the A3 is a secure ride, thanks to a number of standard features and Audi's reputation for safety. In addition, the 2008 A3 was selected by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety as a "Top Safety Pick" for good performance in front, side and rear tests.

According to the Detroit News, "Audi certainly didn't scrimp on safety," which About.com backs with, "Safety is paramount in Audi's universe."

Accident Avoidance

The 2008 A3's standard safety features include anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control. Adaptive headlamps are optional.

Crash Protection

The A3 has dual-stage front air bags with a passenger-side occupant sensor as well as Sideguard head protection air bags for both front and rear occupants. Also standard are active front head restraints. All five seats have three-point belts with automatic tension and adjustable headrests, and the front seat belts are adjustable and equipped with belt-force limiters.
