Safety - What the Auto Press Says
The Audi S4 performs well in crash tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration - earning four out of five stars in frontal impacts for both driver and passenger. In side impact crash tests, the S4 earns five stars for the front seat and four stars for the rear. According to the Boston Globe, "As impressive as the S4's power and handling are its safety features."
Accident Avoidance
Accident avoidance features standard on every 2008 S4 include a tire-pressure monitoring system, ABS, Electronic Brake pressure Distribution (EBD), and Brake Assist. Bi-xenon high intensity discharge headlights with automatic self leveling come standard. The headlights also rotate in the direction the steering wheel is turned. "Back on the highway, under their plastic covers, the front headlights swivel with the steering direction, illuminating the twists and turns of the road," explains the Boston Globe.
Crash Protection
Crash protection features standard on every 2008 S4 include dual-stage front airbags with front-passenger sensor, Sideguard head protection airbags for front and rear occupants, and a Lower Anchorage and Tethers for Children (LATCH) system for the rear seat.
