Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The 2008 Audi S6 has not been crash tested by the federal government or insurance industry. However, plenty of safety features come standard.

Accident Avoidance

The S6 comes standard with anti-lock brakes, high-intensity discharge headlights, daytime running lights, Quattro all-wheel drive, and an electronic stability program with anti-slip regulation.

New for 2008 is an optional lane departure warning system that reviewers have yet to test. Also optional is an advanced parking system that uses a backup camera. Forbes reports the system is "especially helpful on the S6 because it's a long car."

Crash Protection

To protect passengers in a crash, the S6 provides front driver and passenger air bags, front-side air bags and front side-curtain air bags for all passengers. Rear side-curtain air bags are optional.
