Audi TT Roadster - What the Auto Press Says

The TT Roadster is appreciated for its unique combination of superior handling, iconic design, and luxurious interior appointments. While some reviews are disappointed with Audi's decision to make Quattro all-wheel drive only available for the TT 3.2 trim, many argue that the 2.0T is extraordinary in its own right. Still, the TT Roadster ranks near the bottom of its class.

The majority of auto writers find the Audi TT Roadster to be a fantastic sport cruiser. "The V6 and DSG [automatic transmission] in the new Audi TT are so well matched, and the interior and exterior so beautifully re-done, that it is impossible not to like this car," writes AutoWeek. Though it's expensive, reviewers say that overall the TT Roadster is a good value.

Available for the TT is a 250-horsepower V6 or 200-horsepower turbocharged I4 engine. It's also manufactured as a coupe.

  • "The 2008 Audi TT will appeal to true sports car enthusiasts and weekend cruisers alike." -- New Car Test Drive
  • "Along with this incredible performance comes a high price, suggesting the TT is a rich person's toy." -- CNET
  • "None of this comes at a bargain price. Audi is a luxury brand with an orientation toward quality, so the tested stick-shift roadster had a starting price of $43,275." -- Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
  • "If you're looking to splurge on a sporty convertible this summer, be sure to check out Audi's newly redesigned TT. It's quicker, better looking, and more fuel-efficient than the old TT, and you don't have to spend an arm and a leg on the '08 model to get a truly satisfying driving experience. This is one of those rare models where the least-expensive version may be the best." -- BusinessWeek
