BMW 6 Series Convertible - What the Auto Press Says

The two-door 6-Series Convertible is a powerful option for luxury shoppers with money to spend. While it represents a better value than some other European sports cars, the 6-Series offers less rear-seat space and less sporty style than many of its rivals.

For 2008, the 6-Series gets a slightly restyled exterior and an optional six-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. In addition, the leather seats get new SunReflective Technology to reduce seat temperatures. The first three years have been very kind to this sleek, luxury grand tourer -- well-heeled consumers have snapped-up over 75,000 units the world over," says Road and Track. "New and improved for 2008, look for version 2.0 to continue down the sales path of success."

The 6-Series Convertible comes in one trim -- the 650i -- with a V8 engine. A coupe model is also available.

  • "The new BMW 6 Series Coupe and Convertible maintain their sleek design and ample proportions while receiving some nuanced exterior changes for the 2008 model year: deeper side sills, taillights and front turn signals lit with LEDs, a third taillight integrated into the spoiler on the trunk hatch, and lengthier reverse lamps and reflectors." -- Forbes
  • "Overall, look for the 650i Coupe and Convertible to carry on the BMW legacy of fine Grand Touring abilities and style, while also incorporating touches of luxury." -- Roadfly
