Cadillac DTS Exterior Review
Exterior - 7.8 (Good)
Most auto reviewers agree the DTS exterior upgrades are attractive, blending the right amount of heritage and contemporary appeal. U.S. News reviewer Rick Newman states that "the styling, for starters, announces that something new has arrived."
The 2008 model year DTS exterior received a few upgrades in appearance and size, which auto writers find more appealing. With an extended overall length and width, the DTS is larger. New Car Test Drive auto writers find the nose of the DTS "particularly expressive," with expansive chrome and the center-mounted wreath-and-crest-badge. "The fenders provide a purposeful stance," notes New Car Test Drive, giving the Cadillac a "European look, though in a distinctively American idiom. The DTS sports vertically stacked headlights and an egg-crate grille, giving it an "edgy demeanor" with "more youthful" Cadillac cues, reports Cars.com. Motor Trend calls the DTS styling "a solid evolution of Cadillac's edgy look." "The DTS achieves an interesting balance of subtlety and thanks to its sharp-cornered exterior design bad attitude (we mean that in the flattering sense)," says Forbes. With its "revisionist signature grille and a degree of the current knife-edge styling seen on CTS and STS models," states Car and Driver, the DTS exterior is a bigger, more commanding and "particularly handsome," car.
