Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
Reviewers are clearly divided about the exterior styling of the 2008 Cadillac SRX. Descriptions vary from "ugly" to "modern." Forbes sums it up best by saying that buyers should avoid the vehicle altogether if "the SRX's station-wagon styling leaves you cold."
Although some reviewers feel that the SRX's exterior styling hasn't really changed much, CNET praises it, saying that "with a distinctive Caddy grille, a tapered side profile, and some elegant exterior styling cues, the SRX does a good job of blending form and function." Some reviewers point out the SRX's station-wagon styling, and CarsDirect.com explains that in the United States, station wagon "is a dirty word, probably because of the mom-mobile connotations." However, the reviewer also offers praise for the overall look of the SRX, describing it as "modern." BusinessWeek sums it up best, describing the SRX as a "station wagon on steroids."
The base-model-optional Driver's Package (which comes standard on the V8) adds various external features, including 18-inch cast aluminum wheels and High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps. The optional Merchandised Package (I) includes the Driver's Package and also adds a sport grille and front and rear sport fascias. The Merchandised Package (II) adds 20-inch polished aluminum wheels.
