The 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid does exceptionally well in federal government crash tests, earning five out of five stars in frontal crash tests for both driver and passenger. In addition, it earns five out of five stars for front and rear passenger protection in side crash tests.
Accident Avoidance
Standard accident avoidance features on the Tahoe Hybrid include StabiliTrak electronic stability control, which improves stability on slick surfaces by comparing the driver's steering input with vehicle response and compensating as needed. A four-wheel anti-lock brake system, which reduces wheel lockup on slippery surfaces during hard braking is also standard, as is a rear-view camera.
Crash Protection
Standard crash protection features include front air bags with a passenger sensing system that automatically switches the front passenger air bag off based on passenger weight, plus head airbags. Head curtain side-impact air bags and child safety seats are also standard..
