Reviewers generally agree that the 2008 Chrysler Aspen is a fair entry in the affordable large SUV market, but in a class with more established and better performing competitors, the Aspen is an also-ran and ranks near the bottom of the class.

The 2008 Chrysler Aspen is a capable performer, but that's just not enough to earn it more than a good score and a low ranking in a highly competitive class. Still, some clever engineering helps the Aspen get excellent fuel economy, even from the larger, optional engine. Reviewers say the 2008 Chrysler Aspen takes macho styling cues from the Dodge Durango, but many feel the styling still falls flat, earning a good exterior styling score, but a middle-of-the-pack exterior ranking.
