2008 Chrysler Pacifica Reliability Review [ 2007 ]
Based on analysis of 28 Pacifica reviews and test drives.
Reliability
The 2008 Chrysler Pacifica reliability score of 6.0 out of 10 is the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on trending the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability data from J.D. Power's automotive studies, specifically the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and the Initial Quality Study (IQS).
Chrysler offers a three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty. The Pacifica comes with Chrysler's new lifetime powertrain warranty and three-year/36,000-mile roadside assistance.
Based on prior year models, and moderate repair issues, many reviewers are skeptical of the redesigned 2008 Pacifica's future reliability. Edmunds says, "We're troubled by the less-than-stellar reliability of early models. Quality has no doubt improved since the vehicle's introduction in model-year 2004. Still, it's fair to say that if you place a premium on headache-free ownership, you'll probably be better served by an offering like the Honda Pilot or Subaru B9 Tribeca."
Qualitywise, the Detroit News was disappointed with the test model, noting it "had a few loose trim pieces, some bad interior trim fits and exposed screw heads in the cabin, something you wouldn't expect in a $33,000 vehicle that veers into luxury territory."
