Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
Taking styling cues from the Chrysler Crossfire, the Sebring sedan was updated for the 2007 model year. But mostly positive views of the new style are peppered with the odd complaint. Newsday appreciates its more aggressive look, but Automobile Magazine calls the styling "divisive at best."
Newsday goes on to say that the new design has "more soul, more personality" than some of the Sebring's competitors, but others are not pleased. U.S. News reviewer Rick Newman says the Sebring looks "bloated by contrast" to the Crossfire, while Cars.com's reviewer simply states, "I don't find the Sebring especially attractive."
The Sebring's rear is one of the most mentioned elements in reviews. Although Allpar.com thinks the entire car is "swoopy and stylish," the rear is "a bit odd-looking." Meanwhile, Car and Driver states that "just as much was lost in translation as was kept when the big [Chrysler] Airflite was shrunk into the Sebring, most notably the gorgeous boat tail rear end and fastback roofline. The result is awkward at best, just plain ugly at worst."
