Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

Reviewers range from lukewarm to mildly enthusiastic about the 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan's appearance. "Flat and squared, it provides for plenty of storage space, but is about as spicy as a bean and cheese burrito," says Autobytel.

At least reviewers are approving of Dodge's decision to jettison what Motor Trend calls the "dated jellybean design" of earlier models. Some reviewers find the Grand Caravan's appearance to be more masculine, even aggressive. The Boston Globe calls it the "more aggressive Grand Caravan." Motor Trend believes that "the nose and glass proportions borrow from Dodge's masculine Charger and Magnum ... Shrivel no more at the thought of driving a minivan: The Grand Caravan actually looks mean looming up in a rearview mirror." Their reviewer also finds that it "radiates a handsome, expensive presence." Autobytel calls the Grand Caravan "[l]eaner and more contemporary than the minivan it replaces ... the Grand Caravan gets rid of the flabby look and hides the sliding door track better than almost any other minivan." But About.com says, unequivocally, "In terms of styling and driver appeal, I think the new Grand Caravan has taken a step backwards."
