Safety - What the Auto Press Says

The 2008 Ford Focus received a score of "good," the highest possible, in frontal offset testing from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The 2008 model has not been tested in side-impact crashes, or fully crash tested by the federal government. However, in preliminary government crash tests, it earned a four-star rollover rating.

Accident Avoidance

The 2008 Focus sedan comes with power front vented disc brakes and rear drum brakes. An anti-lock braking system with traction control is an optional upgrade.

Crash Protection

All trim levels of the 1008 Ford Focus sedan come with driver and front passenger safety belt pretensioners, a front row passenger Occupant Classification System, which adjusts airbag deployment based on the size of the passenger, rear three-point safety belts, dual stage driver and front passenger airbags, front seat side airbags, and side curtain airbags for the first and second rows.
