Most reviews commented on the 2008 Ford Mustang Convertible's outward visibility, saying it's impressive when compared to other convertibles. The 2008 Mustang convertible has not been crash tested by the federal government or the insurance industry.
Accident Avoidance
The majority of reviewers find the Mustang's outward visibility unobstructed, especially when compared to other convertibles. The Detroit News reviewers were "surprised that the visibility was so good, even with the top up." Motor Trend agrees, calling the view out of the back window "better than in most convertibles." In the end, Road & Travel Magazine credits the "generously sized rear window and pillarless quarter windows."
The V6 Safety and Security Package, available for the V6 Premium and Deluxe Mustang Convertible, includes an anti-lock braking system, traction control, an active anti-theft system and a wheel-lock kit. HID headlamps can also be added as an additional safety feature. Both GT trim levels of the Mustang come with an anti-lock braking system and traction control.
