Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

The exterior of the Taurus X echoes that of the Taurus sedan and builds on the styling of the Freestyle. "For the 2008 model year, the Taurus X gets Ford's signature three-bar chrome grille and restyled headlights," writes Leftlane News, while also noting "other minor exterior enhancements" to last year's Freestyle, "including new taillight units."

The "Taurus X is essentially a wagon version of the Ford Taurus," observes Consumer Guide, with "revised front-end appearance" for 2008. That revised appearance consists of what Edmunds calls "the corporate three-bar chrome grill." Cars.com finds that the exterior changes between the Freestyle and Taurus X include styling cues resembling "those on Ford's Fusion sedan and restyled 2008 Focus," along with a bumper that "integrates a broad air dam and fog lamps with metallic surroundings."
