Safety - What the Auto Press Says
The 2008 GMC Acadia earns an excellent safety score for its good ratings in government crash tests, and comes with plenty of standard safety features and innovative safety options. It gets top scores of five stars for driver safety and passenger safety in frontal crash tests, and five stars for both the front and rear seats in side crash tests.
- "Safety features include air curtains, seat-mounted side-impact airbags for driver and front-seat passenger, OnStar, anti-lock brakes, and StabiliTrak electronic stability control." -- New Car Test Drive
- "One strange option on this truck: HUD. Yep, just like on a Corvette, you can get a ute with a heads-up-display. I happen to like HUDs, and this one was a bit unique. You don't really need to pay attention to the tach, like you would in say a Vette, so the speedo number is dominant in the display. And when you have XM tuned in, the song name is flashed across the screen. Again, not something that's really necessary, and it's probably another unneeded distraction, but at least you don't have to take your eyes off the road." -- AutoWeek
- "Many drivers will appreciate the raised seating position, which gives a clear view of the road. However, a high beltline limits rearward visibility, making parking lot maneuvers more difficult." -- Kelley Blue Book
