Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

Although smaller than other Hummer SUVs, the 2008 H3 still has an appealing military-transport appearance. Kelley Blue Book says the H3 "doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is: A capable, traditional Sport Utility Vehicle that looks the part of a serious off-road machine."

Nobody would describe a Hummer as sleek and stylish, but there's no question that squared-off, military looks are part of its appeal. The Washington Post says the H3 has a high "head-turning quotient," later writing "Even avowed SUV haters took time to eyeball this one." U.S. News reviewer Rick Newman says the H3's "distinctive Hummer styling is about as bold as it gets, rectangular and defiant in a world of slicked-back dandies."

Exterior Trims

H3 base model

The standard trim features 16-inch cast aluminum wheels, a one-piece rear swing gate with assist strut, dual compose halogen headlamps, daytime running lights, and black roof rack crossbars.

H3x

The Hummer's H3x trim level adds purely exterior features, including 18-inch tires, wraparound chrome brush guard, and a grille and spare tire cover in the same color as the body for a more stylish appearance.

Alpha

The H3's newest trim level features a Chrome Appearance package that includes chrome door handles and mirrors and 16-inch chrome wheels.
