Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

The Civic underwent a major redesign for the 2006 model year, and though most previous Civic designs were slight evolutions of the previous generation, the latest generation is considerably different, using a deep wedge shape.  Auto writers often praise the new shape, saying that it offers a unique look in a class mostly filled with conservative designs.

  • "Once considered the Civic's only weak point, exterior styling is now one of the car's most appealing attributes." -- Kelley Blue Book
  • "This is the sexiest Civic sheetmetal yet."-- Car and Driver
  • "Exterior styling is sleek, sassy. Honda obviously borrowed design cues from the street stylists of Southern California for this one." -- Washington Post
  • "This model's sloping hood, big and sharply raked windshield, and low roof line -- which drops back to the quick flip of a spoiler atop a short trunk -- make the car look like it's moving, even when it's parked." -- Boston Globe
  • "New Civics look sleeker and sexier than ever -- with longer wheelbases, shorter front and rear overhangs and steeply raked windshields. The last creates very deep dashboards that contribute to what long has been a Honda trait: a feeling of spaciousness and a deep and panoramic view forward." -- Newsday
