Exterior - What the Auto Press Says
Most auto reviews don't consider the 2008 Honda Odyssey's exterior body style to be extraordinarily attractive or eye-catching. Still, very few would classify it as ugly. According to Car and Driver, "While other minivan makers try for pretty -- think Toyota Sienna -- or pleasant -- as in Dodge Caravan -- this Honda has a heavyset look about it, wide and slab-sided and unapologetic for offering space in Costco quantities." In fact, the Chicago Tribune describes it as "a wide, squat blob that won't win any beauty contests." Automobile.com asserts that due to its heavyset low stance it "projects increased aggression," but they also feel that it's "good looking" - for a minivan. Kelley Blue Book says that "the third-generation Odyssey emerges as a refined version of its former self." Even so, many reviewers agree with The Auto Channel's assertion that its "rounded plain look" isn't "enough to make the Odyssey stand out from the crowd."
