Reliability
The 2008 Hyundai Entourage reliability score of 5.0 out of 10 is the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on trending the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability data from J.D. Power's automotive studies, specifically the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and the Initial Quality Study (IQS).
Hyundai offers impressive warranty coverage on all of its cars, including a five-year/60,000-mile basic warranty. Hyundai also offers a standard ten-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, a seven-year anti-perforation warranty and a five-year roadside assistance program.
New Car Test Drive comments on the Entourage's perceived reliability, noting "... the unknown is its long-term quality often defined as a minimum of three years. Meanwhile, Honda and Toyota are known quantities. For consumers the issue is whether all the Entourage's attractions offset that unknown reliability."
Still, several reviewers comment on the fact that Hyundai's quality has improved over the years. Automobile.com says, "Along with a philosophical shift that made ‘quality' the law, Hyundai has re-birthed itself and is now producing some of the most reliable, high-value automobiles available worldwide, and the Entourage is but another example of their success. Expect it to rock the minivan world." About.com also provides a good reliability outlook, noting "it's safe to say that the Entourage should provide its owner with trouble free driving for many years." Plus, when trouble does arise, Entourage drivers can rest assured because IntelliChoice named the Entourage a Best in Class winner for Lowest Repair Costs.
