Exterior - What the Auto Press Says

Most are pleased -- not astounded -- with the Hyundai Sonata's exterior body-styling. The San Jose Mercury News reports, "Design-wise, the new Sonata is pleasant enough. But in making an effort to create a car that will be sold against the Camry, the Hyundai designers sculpted one that looks just as ordinary."

Apathy is present across the board. Edmunds writes, "We're not sure this is an altogether bad thing, but Hyundai would probably be better off giving the Sonata a more distinct look." Kelley Blue Book sums it best, "The Hyundai Sonata features significantly more contemporary styling than previous generations, though some might argue the design is also somewhat generic."

Exterior Trims

GLS

Standard exterior features on the Sonata GLS include heated dual-power mirrors, jeweled projector-lense headlights, and 16-inch steel wheels with full wheel covers. Available options for the GLS include fog lights and a power tilt-and-slide sunroof.

SE and Limited

Standard and optional exterior features on the SE and Limited are similar to the GLS -- with the added exception of standard fog lights and 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.
